need some help on my dads mark 6 escort 1800 ghia

problems

- The other day the interior lights would not switch off at all

- The alarm doesnt always arm from the drivers door(could the door lock electric bit for the alarm be nakered?)

- The washer motor for the front makes the noise plenty of water in it,no blockage in the pipes but doesnt work, and whats the wire coming off the actual washer jets?

- The brake pedal makes the Fog light on the button come on and the heated screen, isit a bad earth and any ideas where to look? doesn't always do it either!!

checked the engine bay for bad earths on battery and all chassis leads etc but seemed ok can anyone help? htanks james

 

drivers door barrel switch faulty ..part about 15 quid


wire on jets is heated jets remove pump and remove seal you will find the seal is covered in gooo either remove it or put a hole through the mesh part to clear it

open boot lid and check the contact pins clean as req...then look at the point where the boot is fixed to the car and spray the pins with wd40 and tap left and right a few times with small hammer this is the earth point for all rear tailgate electrics
