I've got a s2 rs turbo gearbox waiting to go in my mk5 escort turbo project, as its still got the 1.3 box with no lsd . The mk4 box doesnt have the front mount on it to fit in the mk5, my mate recons I can just change the end caseing so I'll have the correct mount to fit it. Anyone ever done this or know how difficalt it will be. I've put the rs turbo engine in myself but I have never taken appart a gearbox before and dont want to take on too much. Is it simple or a job for pro's. Cheers. [/img]

I've done one half casing swap and it was fine. This however is not generally advised as the casings are machined and measured to tolerances as a pair. Better change both halves, not much extra work is involved.

Cheers for the tip mate, gearbox is now done and it wasnt too difficult. Just hope it will all be ok when its fitted.
