Default zetec on R1 carbs

does anyone no where i can get an adapter plate to fit gsxr1000 throttle bodies onto a 1800 zetec? also has anyone done this sort of modification before? sold my cosworth recently and looking for a way to breath more power into my escort gti without going down the expensive route of turbochaging. cheers for any help guys.

sorry mate i meant carbs, im planning to run a 4 carb set up of either a gsxr1000 or an yami R1. the jenvy throttle bodies are cool but way 2 expensive as im saving for a house, i can get a set of R1 carbs for about 80 notes n with dynojet kits in them should see plenty power increase the main problem is getting an adaptor plate, the R1 carbs stand upright on the bike so it will have to be like an open ended inlet manifold i.e with a 90 degree bend from the head. need to find some numbers for some decent engineering firms in manchester who can manufacture this can any 1 help? the other main problem is taking a vac but i was thinking of using the ports the carbs have for balancing. fuel wise i was thinking of using either a pressure relief or a pressure regulator to control the fuel pressure. finally the tiny problem of getting the engine management to function correctly minus the injectors +various other sensors. any help any of u guys could give me would be top banana. cheers.

spoke to the above guy today - what a really helpful bloke going up next week an talk over some specs of manifolds + carb jets etc. the only questions i have now are

1 - will the engine management (zetec) system produce a spark? as far as i can work out ill only be using the coil pack and possibly the crank sensor? all the other sensors as far as i can c i will not need, can the ecu be re-mapped for this set up or will i hve to go for an aftermarket setup which has been suggested to me? all i need is to produce a spark now surly?

2- will i need to fit some sort of pressure regulator/relief valve into the fuel supply? i dont want to flood the carbs.

cheers for any help guys.

Dave will be the best man to advise on spark arangements , as far as i know you will need a after market system , as spark advance etc is controlled by the ecu along with a lot of other things and it might get confused ,

pressure regulator u can get from tweeks , a remote FSE one will do the job , low pressure and with a vacume advance

Tube Torque in Macclesfield is about the nearest for the exhaust, or Blueflame (Skem) if you want a fancy stainless section.

Could have saved you some money on the DTA box too

Sure it will. It can read the 36-1 flywheel pattern directly with the original vr-sensor and then drive the coilpack, either directly (more config hassle) or with the Ford's EDIS-4 module (really easy installation).

thanks for the tip jesseT but i have bought the dta system now. the biggest plus with the dta is there is someone local to me who can map the management and set and balance the carbs for me. thing is since i sold my cossie i have not got another car so its gonna have to be quite reliable with having a tuner who can sort both its a big plus.

sending the carbs for the manifold to be made this week and should have the management by tommorrow so its coming together slowly.

has anyone fitted a dta ecu to the original zetec loom? just wondering if anyone has something like a conversion diagram i.e wiring colours and locations in the multiplug?

also does anyone no if there is any bike guys on here who could sort us out with some sock filters for R1 carbs?
im sure there will be loads of questions an posts on this before its running so cheers for the help an advice guys.
