Default Ford Orion Problems

Hi all need some help if you can.

I own a Ford Orion 1.6 CVH (1993 i think(J reg)) 83000 miles. I havent had it long and has been a good running till now. I have a couple problems :

1. Wether the engine is hot or cold i have alot of juddering when i push the throttle, any gear doesn`t matter, i have replaced the spark plugs, HT leads and the coil and that hasn`t sorted the problem. It can get a bit hairy when i am in traffic and the car suddenly jumps forward.

2. The heat coming out of the heater matrix is no way near hot enough. I get into the car in the morning and i have to wait about 10mins before i can see out of the window and even then its still misted. I have flushed the cooling sysytem out and plugged a hose line into the base of the matrix to wash out and debris and blockage, but i still dont have much heat. The base of the matrix is hot and there is a little heat there, but with the winter here now i need more to drive.

If anyone has any ideas what these problems are and how to sort them out i would be really grateful as i and my mates have run out of ideas and i cant afford to let someone rip me off if its something simple.

Cheers all

Are the hoses (well one at least) going into the matrix getting hot when the thermostat opens ? Simple quick pointer to check first.

If so then there is still a blockage, if not then its possibly a thermostat or hose blockage problem.

Juddering - can you explain more - it the engine juddering ie rev's dropping etc or do you mean its actually trying to drive off ?

Oh and welcome to Pf

hi m8 the juddering to me is either engine or gearbox mounts knackered or its something to do with your clutch !
either ratchet and pawl incorrectly set stretched clutch cable or just the clutch is knackerd !
