why a paddle clutch?

Default why a paddle clutch?

probably been asked loads of times but why is a paddle clutch able to take more power than a normal clutch?

The friction pads on a paddle clutch are made from Cerametalic material which has far more grip than standard or organic material. Because it has more grip only four (or six) pads are needed.

Ahh - thats why the pedal is still light then - I thought maybe the spring pressure was much greater

The pedal pressure is only affected by the diaphragm springs in the clutch cover/pressure plate, not the springs on the driven plate (the one with the paddles on).

can any1 tell me what size the paddle clutch is for a cossie? dia. and thickness
or an ap part number please?
