Default Faulty ECU?

I have had a problem with my frst missfiring, usually after a drive for a while the engine will missfire under boost and contiue too for the rest of the journey. I was told that when this happened again to pull over stop the engine and restart again to reset the ecu.

I did and the problem went for the rest of the journey.

Could this be a faulty ecu?
