hi can anyone tell me how to check my throttle position senser ive been told u use a multimeter but thats as much as i know lol!the car seems to be holding back on boost but not all the time my friend had the same kind of problem and on his the fuel wasent being enriched on boost due to the throttle position senser being fooked any help would be great thanks

you are correct, very simple to do. i also had this problem, i bought a brand new one from ford too cos at the time i had no idea where to begin looking.....Ł40+

Anyway, theres 3 contacts......at idle, the centre pin should have a continuity reading with one of the two outside pins (sorry cant remember which ) and then when u pull the throttle fully open, those two should go open circuit (no continuity reading), and the other outside pin should have a reading with the centre one, simple as that, 2 switches inside is all it is.

it'll soon become obvious if it is fooked, eratic and/or no readings.

Best to do it with the plug disconnected to

ok

one other thing i found out AFTER spending out....i managed to rip open the old one, all it was, was the solder joints inside had broken over time....so if u dont wana spend a fortune u could always repair it

i have know fitted a spare one that i had laying about and it has fixed the problem nice one cheers for that
