ive got a mk 4 xr3i the efi version the problems are when pulling upto a junction the revs will drop and the engine will cut out also when driving especialy around town the car seems jerky and hesitant please help im going mad

 

clean all the black shit out from inside the throttel i had the same problem on my old xr3i cleaned it out and it was fine after i done that

 

its the idle speed controll valve, its the most common problem on the cvh efi's.
they always stall.
clean it right out,
also i think they changed the position of the idle valve to try and sort this.
its probably not getting enough air on tickover or enough fuel, not sure without working on it.
