How do I remove the spline gear from the manual sunroof,90 4x4 saph, if I want to tweak it to put a later model electric unit in.
Is there a circlip or something holding it in.

from what i remember you cant change them easily i think you had to take the mech out drill out rivets swop spline and reassemble.i changed the whole mech.

 

You can use a granada mk 3 motor it bolts on !
but you will have to use washers to space it down abit, and relocate relay
that is on bracket/motor so trim fits.

I have done this to my 89 saff works a treat
