hi people can anyone tell me if there is an off the shelf chip that will run
a yb engine with a ported head? a few people told me that it aint possable.
is this true? any help would be mauch appreciated.....cheers

 

trouble is, there are ported heads and ported heads, dont think anyone will do an off the shelf without knowing exactly how much it has been opend up as it may well run really lean with more air getting in with only the fuel mapped for a std head.

 

yep get chip set up to engine or BANG dont scrimp for extra Ł50 or so, as rebuild and new pistons would cost more as u know

 

ok. so who should i go to see to get a chip mapped for the engine?
spose i have to get all the specs of head to start with.
anyone recommend any outfit that would be able to do this for me?
unfortunatly i live on the other side of the world in New Zealand and
there aint alot of workshops over here that have much to do with cosworths
so far ive been importing all my parts from woodford garage.

 

there are a quite a few places over here, but i suppose without a live mapping session you will not reap the full benefits of all the stuff you have bought, maybe worth trying a few of them who advertise on here, MSD, NMS, MAD etc to see if they have on file a comparable engine spec that they have previously mapped as a staring point.
