bit new to the site, lookin for some answers to probs ive ad with me car
ill give ya the lowdown first

R reg, escort Gti 1.8 16v
77,000 miles
totally standard

jsut had a new clutch fitted as the old one was badly worn
since purchasing the car the speedo needle has been wobbling intermittently..
thought having a new clutch might help it a bit but seems to be worse...
b4 the clutch was fitted there was a judder when gettin the biting point when the car was cold, once warmed up it seemed to be ok
after having the clutch fitted, it seems to be worse
took it back to the garage and they looked it over again and suggested it might be the gearbox on the way out..
a mate has told me it could be the speedo cable and the garage also suggested checking the flywheel on a laser?
finally the car is seriously down on power, im not in the habit of thrashing it everywhere, but when it struggles to rev past 4,000 its a bit wank
it feels hesitant, almost like the limiter has cut in
if any1 can sortya point me in the right direction with any of this itd be much appreciated
started using optimax to see if it helps any as i used to use it in me escort RS

Carl - if you've got my number, gimme a bell, but i suggest you get the cam timing cheked as this is a common problem if the belt is changed incorectly.

the clutch problem - could well be the flywheel or the cover that are worn.
