smoke on start up ?????
alright need a bit of help i own a j reg fiesta rs turbo i've replaced the valve sels and put a new turbo on it but on start up blue smoke comes out but it clears straight away just want to know what it could be and is it serious nice one
What valve seals did you use? did you use ford ones or the cheap ones from the motor factors i used the cheap ones once and i had the same problem

Best way to check is stick a compression tester on it. Where did you get the seals from. I got some patterned ones from a place near me and not had any problems at all.
I thought if the rings were worn you'd see smoke when you let off and on startup. If the rings were badly worn you'd get constant smoke.
To be honest I have got parts from Ford before but alot of parts they sell are made by someone else anyway and Ford just put their name on them. I had a quote from them for a set of genuine Ford pistons (Mahle) Ł400+. I got some Mahle pistons from a local engineering place for Ł300.

the car has done 129000 but has got full brooklyn ford service history and i've not long had the car and im the second owner an old man owned it before me i had a mate do the seals so not sure whether he used cheap ones or not
Sound's like he used cheap seals get some ford ones and try them
