Default Boiling Header tank! Help needed

I have recently bought a Escort RST and when returned from taking it for a test drive i heard the water bubbling and boiling in the header tank. When i asked the previous owner he told me that is has only done this since the new stainless steel tank has been put on there. Is this true or is there a problem? I have checked for the common head gasket failure signs but no oil in water or water in oil.

any helped gratefully apreciated

make sure that the water is at the right level if you over fill it that will make it boilover. is the fan kickin in? putin a stainless header tank on should'nt make it do that mine's been ok.

put a pic up of the header tank and cap , there are some very dodgy header tanks doing the rounds which WILL knacker your engine

make sure you have a valve inside the tank cap as well
