S1 / S2 dip sticks ? are they the same ?

Default S1 / S2 dip sticks ? are they the same ?

I need a new dipstick for my S1 and i have heard that an S2 dip stick is slightly dif ? the S1 are called 81 and a S2 is an 82 or something ? is this true or can i just use a S2 dip stick.??

at the mo i have an XR3i one which is a no no !!!

S1 dipstick has oil level indicator as part of it so completely different to s2 and i think its shorter also.

I been told by other people that i cant use a S2 one so im really confused weather i can or not

thanks for the reply , any reason why they are shorter when its more or less the same engine , im just a little confused

i guess when they brought out the mk4 they used a longer dipstick so you could find the hole easier . mk3 xr3i , S1 dipstick is the same . early xr3s were a different resistance and were black

ok i got you , coz the dip stick im using is a MK4 one and thats why it keeps getting push up

hello m8 . havnt you got the mk3 dipstick still ?. i think ive said this b4 somewhere but there easy to repair and solder new wires on and saves all the flashing lights in the dash board
