i own a 1996 v6 mondeo....from last week i have had whurrin noise from the area near the water pump, i have removed the water pump and its fine....checked the thermostat and thats ok....also the water levels are up and down everyday. this noise kicks in every 10 secs and goes off again...any ideas anybody?

are you sure its not just moosing????????

 

did you check to make shore that the impellor hasent broken away from its shaft as sometimes they can feel tight but when they warm up it can start to slip

 

As said above m8 check the pump again

If its got plastic impellors they are a wank pump for the shaft spinning inside the impellors

Get one from a motor factors with metal impellor
