hi i have a mk4 escort xr3i MFI and was woundering how i go about lowering the idle speed as it is kicking on 2000spm

there should be a little screw type thing if you follow your eccelerate cable back to the engine bay.

If I remember rite, its a fairly large brass screw underneith ur throttle housing. Looks fairly large, and has a spring on it to retain its position. Wind it in to lower the idle speed, as its a air by pass adjuster ie it doesnt act against the butterfly/throttle stop.
