i have a S2 escort with a stage 1 chip and standard engine, basically my oil light keeps coming on when the car is idleing and when i change down the gears, but it goes off as soon as i accelerate or when it goes over 1100 RPM. please HELP

 

low oil pressure i would say. ready to go BANG

 

please don't say that, any ideas how to cure the problem? this is my first RS so i'm stil learning, but fortuneatly i haven't been using the car? cheers and thanks for your help!

 

For about £25-30 you can have an "Oil Pressure Test" done to it. This will confirm wether its about to go bang or not.

But from what your saying i dont think Tonyturbo is too far from the truth though. Sorry mate!

 

change the oil light switch(maybe faulty),change oil and filter(could be wrong type),failing this could be the oil pump's knackered which means as above
