sapphire cosworth air-condition info
I would like to share some tech tips about connecting the air-
condition to my sapphire 4wd cosworth 90 model.
Can anyone help?I would like to connect it to the Ecu.As far as i
know there are 2 ports in the ecu where 2 specific cables
(input ,output ) are attached . I am talking about the original
Marelli ecu that 4wd cosworth were equipped.
Where are they connected exactly ?Their polarity ?
Does anyone know of any link , site featuring
electrical ,or air condition wirings in the web.
thanks

the aircon input is connected in to pin 12 and pin 21 on the ecu.behind and to the right of the glove box in the relay cluster.the is a relay with a diode attached to it this is the idle speed compansation relay.the diode likes a fuse but when removed it you can see its a diode.the are two brown and green wires spliced in to it.one is from the relay itself going to terminal 86 the other is connected to pin 12 on the ecu.
the other wire connected to the ecu comes from the de-iceing switch which is located in the aircon plenum at the back of the engine bay beside the windscreen wiper motor,i think you have to remove the vaccum opperated actuator to access the swiitch, the wire colour is black and yellow and it goes to pin 21 you can click to enlargr the wireing diagrams below and print off and stick together

bear in mind, that not all ecus will respond to the air con input, i believe thay have to be a spefic ecu for it to work and raise the idle speed then it gets the signal...
