Default 76 escort 1.6ltr with dual throat weber

hi im new to this
i have a ford escort 76 1.6 litre and have just put a dual throat weber on it and ive had this intermintent problem from when i put this on. sometimes my car will run perfect but when this problem comes on, it runs like sh1t. my car jerks real hard like its not getting enough somthing, fuel electrical,i dont know. ive replaced the leads plugs points cap condenser, carbys been reconditioned and rejeted, fuel lines, fuel filter and pump have been replaced,it has an automatic choke which has been adjusted, its a thermostatic switch with a temperature sensitive spring.
the mechanic thinks it might be a temperature problem inside the inlet manifold. has anyone done this before can any 1 HELP?
