Hi i have just had an 88 spec RST and am having a few probs. First of all when it has been left overnight it wont fire up which i think must be the cold start injector. Also sometimes when im driving the engine just cuts out wont bump or anything. Leave it 5 mins and it starts fine and runs fine. I have just put a new starter on itso it cant be that. Any suggestion please.

Best advice is because you have just bought it get it to a tuner or a specialist to get a good checkover done. Otherwise i doubt it was your starter motor sounds like distributor to me as this is a common fault and this would explain the non starting and cutting out, also get the cold start injector disconnected as its shite. otherwise it could be something else such as fuel as said above
