spray can primer
Can anyone help me out on this. Im in the middle in re building my bargain saph cossie. The car was a total dog and the previous owner left it for a year rotting in his drive ,but i felt the need to bring it back from the dead rather than strip it for parts. I have spent the past 2 months working on the engine and the electrics. The last job is the body work. Last weekend i hacked off one of the front wings ready for its new replacement. I have undersealed the new one. But i was wondering once i have welded it on can i primer the wing with spray can primer. I have herd from a few people that spray cans contain silicone and that this reacts to normal spray paint.i need to protect the welds with something..... Can anyone help me out on this?
ive done it on small jobs never had a problem i did use 2 pack over the top, but remember it's not as good as it would be out of a spary gun.
if it was me i wouldnt do a whole wing with it as it is not very good for a job as big as that. p.s dont forget to paint the inside ot where it goes by the door do u know what i mean ? it will be easy for u l8r when u do the top coat. hope it goes well for u.
