FOCUS MK2 2.5 knocking sound - HELP ?
Hello everyone,
So I bought a 2009 Focus ST MK2 2.5L turbo I5 , and week later I started to notice a weird sound from the engine. It sounds like a diesel. And sort of seems like a knocking sound and vibrates a bit. It is most apparent when the car is cold and idling. When the car warms up, the sound kind of goes away, but is still slightly noticable. When the bonnet is closed I can hear it very well through front driver side wheel arch. Does anyone have an Idea what this could be? No engine check lights so far. I thought maybe the valve tappets, changed the oil, but sound is still there. The car has quite a high mileage though - about 230 000 km (~140 000 miles). Maybe this is just a normal 5 cilynder noise of an older car with more miles on the clock? But a friend of mine who had a new one back in the day said he never had a noise like this. Links to videos with sound:
Has anyone ever had a similar issue? Any help or advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance
