metering units?????

the metering unit on my rs turbo has just giving up this week,does any 1 no if a metering unit off an XR3i or an orion would be the same?iam no shore about the fuel pressure`s,would there be any diffence them??

how do you know when its fooked then as im having problems with just wondered if this is my problem as well
