2.0 zetec to bc gearbox mating plate/shim
Hi guys wondered if anyone could give a little advise regarding fitting an old escort bc box to a 2.0 zetec engine. My issue is with the mating plate between the engine and box. Which plate should I be using? The cvh one or front starter zetec one? Has anybody run without this plate aswel? Many Thanks in advance!

Depends if you are going front or rear starter... You can always weld a plate left onto the spacer where there is a gap. I use front starter on my BC box to Zetec so use the original CVH/BC spacer plate and have a gap at the back where the block is designed to accept a rear starter but its never bothered me.

Thanks for the reply bud. I did actually bolt it all together with the cvh plate but found that my starter motor was grinding the inside of the starter hole in the plate slightly which led to poor cps signal due to the swarf, so might just shave it out a little. Not too bovered about the gap at the back for now.

I'e just fitted 2.0 silvertop to bc box from mk4 efi escort. Used bc plate needed a bit of grinding around the bottom crank area. And a piece.welding on side where zetec box is different shape to cvh.
