Default Cosworth Starting Problem

Hi all,

Cutting a very, very long story short, I'm still having issues with trying to get the car running properly.....

It's a Mk1 escort running a YB.

- Green injectors.
- T34.
- L6 ecu.
Basically a stage3.

The car has been running lonely for a few years on and off... ha ha

What's happening is, the engine won't fire on start up, it turns over ok, but when I turn the full pump off, after a few revolutions the engine fires and then I can switch the pump back on and the car will idle on its own. The engine does sound lumpy on idle.

I have changed everything in the engine bay, all new sensors, new loom, ecu, fuel, battery, to try and sort out this problem.

Any help would much appreciated as im at a loose end.........

Pete.

My car was terrible, it turned out to be that the fuel was about 4-5 months old in the tank, I drained it and put in new, starts on the button now, modern fuel doesn't do well sitting around.

Thanks for the quick reply, I've drained the fuel out of the tank and replaced with fresh fuel just to eliminate that but still have the same issue...
