ST170 PCV Feels loose
Replaced my PCV valve on my ST170 yesterday, but the new one moves quite easily, if it wasnt for the rubber pipe on the end I think it could quite possibly fall out,
Looking online they say it should be a snug fit, Can the rubber pipe the PCV valve sits in be replaced ?
Or does anyone have any suggestions how I could make it tighter, I thought maybe some kind of tape around it, but dont know if it could perish and do damage later on.

Cars been an absoloute nightmare lately, changed everything I can think of, spark plugs, Coil pack, various sensors, MAF etc, but when cruising car seems to feel jurky, Garage told me to change PCV and see if it made a difference, the old PCV wasnt blocked, but it did look worse for wear, If this doesnt fix it, im gonna have to take it to a garage and get a smoke test done on it, as getting sick of the kangerooing,
I keep getting my EML light flash on and off, but 2 garages cant find any fault codes coming up at all, so not sure what that is either.

Had a Brand new IMRC fitted just before I bought the car, its been checked at garage and all working as it should be, Just had a brand new CFM 67mm Throttle Body and new Throttle Position sensor put on too,
Car feels good when foots down, its just a kangeroo when I try and cruise along, I have got a split in my cat, but garage said that shouldnt effect running of the car.
Decat will be fitted after xmas, just waiting for my new manifold to arrive,

Unfortunatly yes, Got an RS Mongoose Exhaust on, Already got my decat here, but because of an after manifold it didnt fit, so going to revert back to a standard manifold, Both Lambdas are brand new, I did have a look in the cat when it was removed the other day, but al lI could see was a honey comb, unless its breaking up on the otherside to where I was looking,
Just really hope I get to the bottom of it soon, as much I like putting my foot down, it would be nice to be able to cruise with looking like a learner driver,
Have had 2 garages look at it, with diagnostics and not come up with anything, Also had the RAC look at it, for all the good they did, told me my lambda was at fault, when it was my MAF that had failed,

when I say diagnostics machine I mean somebody of the likes of MSD etc, but defo sounds like the car is giving you the runaround, the fact the eml comes on can only really point to a few things, and sounds like you have covered the usual suspects as last resort would be a ecu but again get a pro like MSD to check it
Garage said EML can come on and off because theres an issue thats not quite enough to bring up a code. not sure how true that is,
I have a Bluefin remap on the car, so if this PCV valve hasnt made any difference I will put it back to standard, and see how that goes,
Do you know how I would find a local Pro like MSD local ish ? I have been in touch witha few remap places that have said they can remap my car to make it run with all my modifications, but not sure I want to go ahead if it sounds like I have a possible faulty ECU

If you are leaking exhaust gases before either the pre or post cat lambda sensors, this will give you running issues. The pre cat lambda is a common fault on these and do give the symptoms you describe, I would get the exhaust fixed first then look into changing this.
Thanks Guys some great advice here, Leaking before Post cat lambda. this is all getting fixed in the new year, So will go from there, Thanks again. Much appreciated

Im a Londoner too, Just got lost up Norf one day and never went home lol..
Will see howe exhaust being fixed goes, and then decide from there what im gonna do, Might be cheaper to buy a replacement ECU, that travel all the way to blackpool and back,
Its not a big difference I thought the standard was 65mm but google just came up with 66mm, either way I dont think its a huge difference, and the car was behaving this way before I swapped the throttle bodies over, I only swapped them as I squashed my standard plastic throttle body over tightening my Induction kit.
I was debating waiting till the cars in the garage in a few weeks having manifold swapped and decat put on, but managed to put a flat head into the side of the grommet and it lifted enough I could get a grip with the pliers, wasnt worried about damaging the grommet knowing it was being replaced,
But its all tight and fitting snug now, so hopefully wont need to be touched for a while now,
Going to wait for the decat to be fitted then if I still have running issues get it smoke tested for any other leaks
