Hi all i have a problem with my st170 the engine management light is on, pugged in computer to find its the imrc control unit . Now ive bought another imrc which has been tested and working, ive fitted to car cleared the fault and ran around for over an hr no problems with light off car feels better. Went out shopping on evening only to find out the light is back on any idears people this is driving me nuts, had fords all my life but this st170 is doing my nut in as ive found out now my steering rack is on its way out too never again will i touch one of these.

 

I stripped my IMRC box apart and soldered a new transistor in it and cleaned up the brass contact and soldered all the other joints. It works most of the time OK.
I think they are prone to faults.
My ST170 has had its fair share of faults, but i still pretty much like it.
Just take MIL bulb out
