FDS/WDS diagnostic systems question
From what I found out mainly here on forums EEC IV Escort Cossie schould connect to FDS2000 diagostic equipment Ford dealerships have. Friend of mine took it there, they even found out the 3 pin diagostic socket for which they have a plug in their system. They found Escort Cosworth on the diagnostic program but they wouldn't comunicate. Are there any more things I schould know? Some info out of engine ECU would be usefull for maitenance and setup.
I'm just guessing here but isn't the 3 pin plug just the STI connector? I thought that the FDS2000 connected to a trapezoidal shaped plug that is a combined STI/DLC plug. See http://www.autoxray.com/products.aspx?sub=cables&id=9 for what I mean.

Thereis trapezoidal plug there. If they could plug it in they probably found the right one but no communication. Can anybody clarify to which one they schould connect and what schould they do with the diagnostic eqipment for it to work?
Spot the earlier typo it should be DLC not DCL.
I believe the 3 pin plug has the following connections, STO pin 17 of ecu, STI pin 48 of ecu, third pin to ground.
I've no experience of the diagnostic equipment so I can't help, sorry.
