Focus ST 225 Turbo removal question ?
Hi I have a focus ST with I believe a turbo issue ( non runner purchased for £1500) .. I basically get zero boost .. and a wiring noise from the turbo area.
I've checked the regular MAF / MAP sensor Boost solonoid and oil thingy at the front of the block ... all look ok its breathing as expected .. I did find some shards of impellor wheel in the boost pipe so the turbo has to come off to be changed .
1. My question is can I just unbolt the turbo from the manifold by unbolting the vband type clamp and obviously the associated plumbing and slipping it out ?
or do I have to remove the whole manifold again ( just changed head gasket - head off job ) .... I just want to save my back from bending over the engine bay again to get at those damm 10x nuts that hold the exhaust manifold on.
You advice is much appreciated
