Hi , my engine light just came on after filling up with petrol and driving for about 2 mins, focus st170 02 plate 29,000 miles, I've not used the car since the end of November ,
but it started first time and ran fine ,although pops and bangs now , could it just be damp ? it did hesitate a bit after the light came on but i have full power etc.
Sorry for this shoddy explaination, this phone sucks to type on. Any help would be excellent.
or anyone with a code reader near Manchester that would be willing to plug it in

All sorted took it to local st guy, was bank sensor 1, he said? , was running lean due to piss poor fuel , reset the light , filled up with super unleaded , no problems since.

 

Some of those ST's don't like it when the fuel get low and throw a fit. If it was bad fuel was it a branded garage? shell or an independent station?

I'd be careful if it was unbranded as they may have been petrol stretching. Basically diluting the fuel with paraffin and god knows what else.

 

Hi, yeah it was a independent petrol station , i only went there because it was running on fumes , and it was the closest petrol station to me.

Won't be filling up there again.
