Does the noise go away if you pull the dipstick out or remove the oil cap?

Oil filter housing has a diagphragm that splits and makes a noise.

Complete oil filter housing required.

There is a how to guide on here to replace the diaphragm.

Heard to use the Volvo part as it's stronger.

That's the one pal.

You would of thought they'd do a recall for this wouldn't you? Think it's the most posted fault I've seen on a couple of forums.

It's a VERY common fault on the forums, however..and this I see quite a bit with posted faults on the forums.

I have never (personally) seen one come in the dealerships I have worked in, with this problem. How odd!

But yeh, it's common... on the forums.

You can just replace the diaphragm, just pop the round cap off the top of the housing and pop a new one in. I did find the diaphragms on an American site a long time ago, be buggered if I can find it now.

I know I wouldn't use a dealer to repair it. I think the price would be comical if service costs are anything to go by.

Certain it was 2006.

Mine never seen ford after it was bought but I bought it from a mini dealership owner.

You seen mondeos and S Max's in for power steering issues? Loads of them as well
