Default Strange noise and not holding like it did can anyone help!!!

Hello all

On the way back from the Central day at the Pod, I noticed a strange noise on top end boost, it sounded like a high pitched winning noise like air being sucked in through a tight gap (similar to when air is slowly let out of a balloon).

I have also noticed that it goes flat at this point and is not pulling as hards as it used to.

I have a 2 stage boost on the car with a fifth injection system fitted, along with a Pace Charge cooler, alloy rad, T3 with 360 degree bearing and a K&N cone filter. It doesn't make the noise on the lower boost setting but only the high boost which runs at 17psi judging buy the boost gauge.

I did have a loose pipe of the charge carrier so tightened that up but the ptoblem remains, the pipes are silicone and all look to be in good shape.

I don't have any smoke coming from the back on boost or at any time and the engine sound fine mechanically.

With the high boost setting on it would come in at around 3000 revs and then really pull hard, and launch through the revs to the next gear, but it just seems to be slower and hold back.

I am hoping this is a loose pipe somewhere and by removing them all and giving them a clean and refit I will sort the problem. But if anyone knows different please let me know.

Cheers

Matt

Have you checked for small splits in the boost hoses? could be that you have a hole/split in one of them, and at the higher boost setting it is escaping? it may also do it on a lower boost but may not be as noticable???

I am guessing cause without seeing the car/hearing the problem, i am clutching at straws

my bet is a split hose, a mate of mine had a boost hose that you could not actaully see any split in it , even bending it, twisting it doubleing it over etc, changed it just out of devilment and promlem solved, its funny stuff silicone and it can "appear" to heal its self of small holes, cuts etc.
