Cosworth management - only sparking on no:4
Hi all
I id post this is the rst forum, but i'm sure there may be lots of knoledgable people who could help who may not look there. (as i've had some really good advice before from this one).
To fill you in, We have a 1.9 rst with cosworth management. We’re running a hybrid dizzy, cossie TB, 1.8 bottom pulley with 4 teeth at 90/180/270/360degrees a modified 1.8 sensor bracket with cossie Crank sensor, cossie water and air temp sensors. We have got a 3dr ecu at the moment (which I know we need a L6), but we have been informed by Ahmed that we can get the car running to run the new cam in with the L1.
All is now hooked up, but we only have a spark on number 4 cylinder. Using a test light on each injector plug, it seems that only number 4 injector is pulsing also.
Any ideas on what we should be looking for?
It was suggested it could be an ecu problem... and we're trying to get another at the momemt..
I doubt its the cap though, as no 4 injector is the only one pulsing aswell.
Any help will be very much appreciated as once again, things have grounded to a halt
Cheers all!
Austin

1. you know you've got at least one good plug lead and plug. plug lead into the dizzy cap in different positions and earth the plug and check for a spark. if OK in all 4 positions, you've got 3 duff leads/plugs. if not, sounds like dizzy cap, or rotor arm spinning eccentrically in your hybrid dizzy - turn engine over with dizzy cap off to check if rotor arm running true.
2. unplug brain, check for continuity between one of the wires in each of the 4 injector plugs - the injectors should share a common 12V feed. if no continuity, wiring loom fault.
