What voltage is the alternator charging now?

Ford uses a so-called "Smart Charge" system where the alternator is controlled by the engine ecu. The wiring between this ecu and the alternator does fail.

no idea seems to have gone off again but no doubt it will come back on again! got told maybe the wire is prob rusty and if it was battery or alternator the car would of cut out within 5 mins
