Can somebody please tell me how to tell what ecu my j reg 4x4 has i no it should be a l8 but im not sure it is coz it doesnt clip in the carrier properly i opened it up and the collins chip says l1 does that mean its a level 1 ecu? also it is running very rich i mean very rich £30 =100 miles not even caning it! it is all stage 3 dk greens stage 3 chip 3 bar and breather i havent had it long and dont no that much about them my friend says its the ecu or the chip that is the problem? any help will be very welcome thanks marc :cry: :cry:

 

the ecu should have on the cover the code wd48.08/ this is a level 8 ecu for the j reg, the numbers after the / basically let you know if it can run a lambda sensor or not. l3e.31 is not lambda capable. and i think l2e.31 is
at that level (stage 3) it would be worth bringing it to a good cozzy tuner to sort out the fueling as its more than likely a sensor or just a basic set up.

 

Best get her off to a tuner for repair before she nips a ring due to that fuelling pal, better in the long run, especially for your wallet
