Right my mate has just called me and told me about his orion turbo conversion problem.

Basiclly he was not blasting it or anything, he just went to work parked up end of day got into drive home, but his stereo is working lights at front are working and rear.

HOWEVER

*there is no dash lights the clocks light up though when u put the headlights on 1 (bat light, handbrake light small red ones etc not working)

*no fuel pump working (this was bridged with a piece of wire putting on constant and connected to ignition so when u turn the key once the fuel pump comes on constantly)


the car cranks over and over but will not fire and start up, but then we know it won't start coz the fuel pump aint working.


Also 2 days before on thursday he said he was on motorway came off went into mcdonalds he parked up took the key out of the car and still kept on running, the car wouldn't switch off????
so he put it in gear so it stalled, but it started up fine after, just it wouldn't switch off when he turned key to turn her off.


any ideas with this?? i think the previous owner that had turbo'd it joined the wires up on the drivers side sill.

any ideas peeps? AA man said something about its lost its permant power feed or something.

its the ignition switch its fcuked its not turning the power round to the rest off the electric.

 

the ignition switch is the round black push on plug at the back that disconnects from behind the plastic steering cowling isn't it?

and it unplugs from the loom, correct? it turns around when u put the key in and turn the barrel?

are these the same as xr3i's or does it have to be an rs turbo item?
