It's a lot of work, for not a great deal of benefit - Any reason why you want the V6 in particular, and not the cheaper, easier (potentially much more powerful) Zetec Turbo option?

seen this done before and as Dan says its a lot of aggro and you will need some pro fabrication skills to do it too, its a big heavy lump so I would rethink engine choice and simply go rst route or go zetec

They're also not that powerful - Even if you fit all the ST200 stuff (which is a fair bit of aggro, and not cheap) - you'll get 200bhp max.

It has been done before - But it's a load of work just to get the engine to sit in the bay.

If you really want a 4x4 system to mate with the V6 see if you can get a written off Jaguar X type. The engine is based on the same design - although not many parts are direct swaps, so it won't be easy.

I hope you've got serious skilz, and/or very deep pockets!

the fabrication costs alone will be so much its a pointless mod unless you have recently gained metalwork fabrication skills yourself or had numbers come up on lottery, and everything your doing has been done before and most write into dan telling him about it and asking for it to be mag featured so he speaks from vast knowledge in that area

sorry mate but its the wrong engine for that vehicle, anything can be done with know how and budget but last esc van with that engine that sold did not even reach Ł2k so your throwing money away and for a Ł5k budget you could even grab a late focus st or even frs in need of tidying

As above really, if you have the spare cash to waste on it then fair enough, I think you will be rather disappointed with it though. Even with 2wd they are not a fast car, the extra drag the 4wd system will give will make it slower.

Your best bet will be to sell the engine on again and get yourself a 2.0 zetec, turbo or throttle body it and it will be good fun and will fit with next to no modifications to the shell. The money you will save on fabrication can be spent on the engine and better suspension / brake setup.

There is a reason the v6 engine isn't transplanted much, because it just isn't worth the hassle!

should always ask in advance as it saves your wallet taking a bashing, nearly every ford under the sun has been modded and built on this site and its full of tuners and builders who all know their onions from their peppers
