temp guage probs??

Default temp guage probs??

why is my temp guage doing this ,sometimes it will sit at half ,or right up close to the red?? the fans come on in no specific place on the guage ,there is no pressurising or any of that nonsence but what is doing this and what do i need to change cos its really fuckin me off...... please help

The fans are controlled by a different temp sender/switch. Check the connection on the gauge temp sensor (not sure where it is on a cossie to be honest, usually around the thermostat area). Make sure the connection is secure, if they are try a nwe temp sensor.

4x4? the gauge sender is screwed in the head directly behind the dipstick, it's a tit to get to, but I'd fit a new one for what they cost then work from there. They are well known for going AWOL and giving all sorts of readings..
