Default Escort Cabriolet 1996 Help Question

New to this ford stuff, just bought a 1996 ford escort cabriolet 1.6 16v
So anyway im not sure what common faults are but this car runs fine until it gets hot, and then its juddering and almost cutting out when i press the throttle even slightly. The guy i bought it from said engine temp sensor, dono why that would make it run like that though... So i ak the ford boffins any ideas whats going on

I would imagine if the sensor was faulty then the car would still think its cold even when warmed up. And probably over fuelling just my guess

thats what it feels like, either over fuelling or like its not getting enough fuel. Any idea why it would do this? or what needs replacing to fix the problem

Crank sensor sounds like a good shout as it does idle rough and someone mentioned it the other day as common fault on the engine
