Puma/Fiesta brake upgrade
Hi, I am after some advice on brake upgrades, I have just fitted some 17" wheels to my Puma and although they look great the standard 240mm discs look really puny
My question is does anyone know of a cheap way to upgrade to 280mm discs. I have looked at Pumaspeed but the 280mm cosworth spec conversion is £299 plus vat and fitting
I believe that the Puma is basically a glorified mk5 fiesta so surely some of the modded fiesta's have upgraded there brakes.

Brake Upgrades
There are various options available if you wish to improved the braking performance:
Pre 2000 Puma - standard front brakes are 239mm in size. A simply upgrade is to use post 2000 Puma calipers, discs and pads, these brakes are larger at 258mm.
Fiesta ST (2002 - 2008) - These brakes are 280mm in size and are a straight swap with no modifications. These brakes will fit behind standard 15in wheels and the original brake lines can be used. I have this setup on my Puma.
Mondeo Mk3 calipers with Focus ST170 discs - this setup is 300mm in size. To fit these the mounting holes in the knuckles will need to be drilled out to accept the bolts for the calipers. These will fit behind standard 15in wheels but the calipers will need grinding back, to be safe you should really fit a minimum size wheel of 16in. This setup will accept standard brake lines.
there brake upgrades off a site i found on internet dont know if there all confirmed the site was
