Hyia im a newble to the site I've got a problem With my focus 1.8 zetec petrol it revs up ok at idle but when your driving it only revs up to 3000rpm and only do about 60 if u dip the clutch it revs up again it's had a new centre piece of the exhaust and backbox the cats ok just passed Mot could someone help thanks Paul sorry for the long winded post ha

 

would the coil pack cause this fault I just can't get my head around it revs up ok

 

did you have the problem prior to the exhaust replacement?

It sounds like there is a restriction, the reason it revs as you describe is as there is no load applied.

Hyia thanks guys for the reply I found the silencer in the middle part had a faulty internal pipe blocking air flow under load I have had the bits changed on warranty and the car is spot on
