Hi all, new to the forums so be gentle with me.

Just replaced the problematic oil filter housing thingy, no probs, noise stopped and sounding peachy. Ran much better yesterday as a result.

Today on the other hand has thrown me. In 1st and 2nd gear under medium and heavy acceleration the car starts to kangaroo like the fuel is being shut off on off on etc

Seems to stop once into 3rd. I've had a play and removing the MAF sensor seems to stop the jerking but of course the car runs down on power.

I guess my question is wether the MAF sensors faulty or if not what other pissibilities are there.

No warning lights have come on but i've heard a series of six little beeps from somewhere. Not sure what that might signify.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this problem? I have pretty much the same issue with my smax with the same engine. The issue has the garage baffled! They've data logged the car whilst driving it but can't spot anything amiss.
