Hi, I own a 1998 escort gti, with turbo conversion, the mapping kit is megasquirt, and mapped on v-power fuel! the car has been running fine on boost, until this evening! i have just filled up with "supreme unleaded" could this be causing my issues which include..........
mapped to no boost, then at 4000rpm the turbo kicks in, but when this now happens, it holds back, like its fuel cutting, and backfires, although it sounds cool, it doesnt drive cool! could this be because of the mix, and diffeent fuel now used? should i run it just on v-power?

sounds like you have another issue.

When was the turbo normally boosting?

 

I had it mapped the other week, set up to how it is, was honestly spot on before the fuel went in, have however noticed a strong fuel smell, and one of the injectors is leaking?

 

I had this on a RST running gotech management, as soon as it started boosting - No amount of threads here or anywhere else could point me to a simple list of what it could be.

So i stripped the car for rebuild. doh!

 

Ah, that wasn't good! Found the issue was a leaky Injector seal!
