Default 3 dr cosworth speedo bouncing!!

Got the car out for the first time in 18 months, drove up the street and noticed the speedo bouncing and clicking/tapping. checked cable at both ends and even pulled it through casing and its fine, but when i put the end of cable into the clocks and turn it by hand i can feel the clicking. Are my clocks just broke? iv had it out one day and im f***ing sick of it!!

it may be the grease dried out in the clock or the spring in the back thats knackered

not necessarily terminal
