Hi. I have a galaxy 2.3 petrol 51 plate. Had problems recently with engine dying when braking. Starts fine every time, but as soon as engine hits normal temp, about 70% of the time when braking for junctions the engine cuts out. Becomes a bigger problem when the immobilizer kicks in and leaves me stranded for 15 seconds until door light stops flashing.Car has been on computer at garage but no faults showed up. get on the ford galaxy owners club forum butt , got a galaxy 2.3i ghia myself and also on this forum , very helpful geezers on there ,help'd me sort out a few probs on the gal .

 

They suffer from fuse box issues the main feed one by the battery worth a check. there only £30 from ford. The connections inside crack and cause wiring to get hot.and give symtoms like you have.
