Hi I have a problem with my aircon and was hoping someone could help.
The aircon only works now and again when on 0 and to turn it off I have to have it in 123 or 4... I've taken it to Halfords and they've told me it needs a new heater motor and quoted me £200....

Looking on eBay I couldn't find a heater motor as such but a heater motor resistor or fan which only come to £70. Is it worth me trying to replace these first or get it fixed with Halfords?

Any advice would be much appreciated thanks

whatever halfords quote that means it can be found way cheaper elsewhere as they are a last resort for car parts, I have a mate thats a manager in kwik fit who will do a test on the A/C system and re-gas if needed for just £45 so im sure other branches also offer this service, you really need to have it correctly checked or you could be throwing money away without doing it

 

i don't know about you, but i have the ability to edit sam300's post

i woul edit it to tell us what car it was which would help narrow down the issues but as i don't know it could be anything

and also why i didn't edit it
