i have just fitted a 1800 zetec to replace my 1600 cvh. i changed engine and gearbox. engine loom was still on the engine when i removed the engine.
to get around the pats issue i bought a 130 ecu and loom then wired it up as follows
pin1. black- ign live
pin2. brown- fuel pump earth
pin3. green- rev counter
pin4. brown/white ign live
pin5.black/green ign live
pin6.brown/green oil pressure
pin7.red per live
pin8.black/red ign live
pin9.brown/white temp sender
pin10. not used
pin11. not used
pin12. not used

this loom and ecu has external edis where as the engine came out of a car that had internal edis
i have plugged in the edis module and crank sensor plug that came with the loom but the engine turns over fuel pump runs but no spark
i know the edis unit works ii came out of the cvh
the 1800 engine was running fine before i removed it as well
can someone shed any ideas please
