I have a 1990 escort bonus 90 with a s1 rs turbo lump in!
Broke down on the way to work this morning was crusing along when the engine just cut out and would not go again!
Ive got a very good spark and can smell fuel and the car willrun for 3-4 seconds and then cut out so the fuel pump is priming but not switchin over to constant! But cannot hear the pump like usual...onlything i have done different lately is fitted a new exhaust last night but cant see that being a problem at all!! Can anyone help please?? Cheers

Cheers fordmad sorry to sound stupid do you know which relay designation it is? And isit in the fuse box under the bonnet?

 

It's to the left of the drivers foot well. Purple plug on it.
