Mondeo A/C
Hi All new to the site my name is Pete driving a 2.0 Mondeo Estate 51 plate, anyway to the problem.
My air con doesn't work, have done the following.
Regassed= nothing
Changed Dash Switches= nothing
Changed Resistior Pack From Under Dash= nothing
Changed A/C Pump= nothing
Auto sparkie diagnosed diode in fuse box so changed= nothing
Fans are spinning lights on the dash, clutch does not seem to be engaging/spinning, there are no leaks as system has been gassed & vacuumed twice. If the pump needs shimming can anyone point me to a link to piccies showing how to do, or if they have any suggestions what to try next.
Regards
Pete

when then a/c is on do you have an earth and a live at the compressor? If you don't have both then either the pressure switch is faulty, or there isn't the correct pressure in the system. Either the live path or earth path is via the pressure switch. This is to ensure the system won't over run (to much high pressure). Or run dry ( no gas) . A basic test with 2 pressure gauges at a decent garage should be able to give you the low down

Thanks RSargie, going back to my mates garage 2morrow to check the electrics again & then if that fails the pressure switch, there wouldn't be any fault logged in the ECU or does the A/C have an ECU????

Sorry bit late, but yes there may be a fault in the Ecu relating to pressure switch. Also you will be able to check if the system is asking for the a/c to be turned on. As the Ecu usually increases engine rpm when the a/c is switched on.
Did you get it sorted?
