The engine decided to chuck the whole cooling system through the engine minutes before my MOT as i had to change the head gasket 5 weeks ago as the water way had broke on it causing water to get into the bores and oil , just like this !

Cut a long story short took the head off and found this ?

Cant see what what cause it , i recon i had a small water leak for a while and water maybe done the damage , couldnt be from det as the fire ring overs the damaged area ?

Has oneone everseen this before on a cvh head efi

the pitting is quite bad , but im guessing that water was stuck under the fire ring and the compression caused it .........maybe ??????????







bit pissed off TBH as ill have to get anew head now

 

Wrong headgasket maybe?

 

Did you have the head skimmed when you changed the gasket mate?. Head looks fooked

 

that just looks like the result of changing head gasket without skimming head to me marks are from water trying to be compressed due to a badly sealed head due to not being skimmed i would say that head is now only fit for the bin

Be lucky if havnt bent the rods slightly aswell

yea water being compressed thats what i thought , yep bin for that head me thinks , or sell it to someone with a 2i who wants to get it skimmed to get a higher C.R maybe
